Living Loops: two-hour albums with a character and a world

A Living Loop is a format created by Signal Art. It is a two-hour programme of original songs in which one character lives inside a world built for that album, shown as a seamless moving film that runs for the whole programme. The music, the character and the world are made together, so the album plays like one long scene instead of a list of tracks over stock footage.

Each character belongs to her programmes. Elara moves through the dark tribal rituals of Ashen Rite 3 and Basalt Drum, the afterhours city of Berlin Afterhours and the mystical orbit of Hypnotic Motion: Elara's Emerald Orbit. Corvina holds the chant of Bamboo Cathedral and Obsidian Hymn.

Lyra carries the intimate vocal deep house of Quiet Return. Suzelle lives in Inner Orbit, Ysolde in Filigree Pulse, Elodie in Shadow Drift, and Aveline in the classical rooms of Adagio Reverie. The loop is seamless, so you can leave a programme playing on a screen for a drive, a work session or an evening at home and the film never jumps.

Glance up at any moment and the character is still there, still living in her world, still moving with the music.
