Read It Slowly, Love

Signal Art · A closer reading

A sentence large enough to stay in

Read It Slowly, Love finds companionship in the pace of reading aloud.

The full song places a book between two people facing an ending. Its ordinary sentences offer shared time without pretending to alter what is approaching. The reader's attention becomes a place in which fear can loosen.

The request changes as the song unfolds, from wanting more time inside the story to being ready to hear its end. Acceptance becomes possible through company, not through the disappearance of sorrow.

A question to carry: Who has helped you face an ending by remaining beside you?

companionship · time · acceptance
