The spring that travels onward
Green Given to the Stream places a carefully tended living thing into moving water.
The Persian lyric begins with the ache of giving away the green growth one has raised. Release seems to leave the giver outside their own spring, with water carrying the valued thing beyond reach.
The changed final refrain allows another reading: wherever the water travels, a part of the giver's spring travels too. Generosity enlarges a life without allowing the giver to direct its whole course.
A question to carry: What have you given that continues somewhere you cannot see?
generosity · release · renewal
